Ways to Get Help

Often, it’s the “little things” that provide major obstacles to older adults living independently in their own homes. Simple chores like changing light bulbs, fixing broken hinges, or tidying up the lawn may be difficult, if not impossible for older adults. At the Northeast NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) we know that these little things really do mean a lot. Our mission is to help older adults continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their neighborhoods. In addition to helping people keep up their homes, we provide van rides to doctors’ appointments and shopping, organize monthly luncheons with informative speakers or entertainment, and provide other resources and information.

In partnership with Catholic Health Care Services, Jewish Federation’s Northeast NORC enables older adults, both Jewish and non-Jewish, in the 19111, 19114, 19115, 19116, 19149 and 19152 ZIP codes to receive the support they need to live, and ideally thrive, in their Northeast Philadelphia homes while staying connected to the community.
