Scholarships for Programs in Israel

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia offers two scholarships for programs in Israel. The Israel Programs Scholarship Aid Fund is for residents of the Greater Philadelphia area, including high school and college-age youth, young adults and adults participating in educational and volunteer programs. The Morton Stein Scholarship Fund for Orthodox Yeshivot is for financially needy residents of the Greater Philadelphia area, including high school and college-age youth, young adults and teachers in Jewish settings, to attend study programs in Orthodox Yeshivot in Israel.

1. Israel Programs Scholarship Aid Fund (IPSAF)

The purpose of the scholarship fund is to enhance the Jewish knowledge and identity of recipients to help prepare them for participating in and contributing to American Jewish communal life. This scholarship is need-based. The application must be accompanied by the following information.

  • A copy of your most recent income tax return.

No application will be considered until this information is complete.

2. Morton Stein Scholarship Fund for Orthodox Yeshivot

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, through the Morton Stein Scholarship Fund for Orthodox Yeshivot in Israel, is committed to providing scholarships to financially needy residents of the Greater Philadelphia area, including high school and college-age youth, young adults and teachers in Jewish settings, to attend study programs in Orthodox Yeshivot in Israel. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to enhance the Jewish knowledge and identity of recipients and to help better prepare them for participating in and contributing to American Jewish communal life. The application must be accompanied by the following information:

  • A copy of your most recent income tax return.
  • A letter of acceptance from the program in which you will be participating.

Applications for Spring and Summer 2017 programs are due by January 30, 2017. Applications for programs beginning in the Fall of 2017 are due by June 15, 2017. Applications for programs beginning in the Fall of 2016 are no longer being accepted.
