The Jewish population of Bux-Mont has more than doubled since 1983 to include more than 40,000 individuals in over 15,000 Jewish households. More than 50% of Jewish households in Bux-Mont are affiliated with one of the nine congregations in the region which represent Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist and Chabad Lubavitch movements.
Bux-Mont is predominantly family-based, yet there are significant numbers of single person households representing younger as well as older adults. Unique to the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia Bux-Mont region are the active partnerships with area synagogues through the Kehillah of Bux-Mont. The Kehillah of Bux-Mont is the collaborative of the 9 area synagogues, Federation and other Jewish agencies active in Bux-Mont.
The Jewish Federation supports outreach programs for young adults, families with young children and educational programs for all ages. The annual Community Fest, held in May, is a celebration of Jewish life in Bux-Mont.
