Women's Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia weaves together the many strands of the Jewish experience to preserve, extend and enjoy the rich tapestry that is our heritage. Our mission is to strengthen Jewish identity at home, abroad and respond wherever needs are most pressing.

Through our Women's Philanthropy Division, women of all lifestyles and income levels make a personal commitment to support the Jewish community locally, in Israel, and around the world. We raise funds for crucial programs, plan for our community's future, and help young women develop into tomorrow's leaders. Our participation helps us gain important experience in community building, policy development, management, and planning. Most importantly, Women's Philanthropy makes a significant and lasting difference in the lives of Jews every day.

Who We Are

We are a community of women representing diverse lifestyles and income levels.  We share a personal commitment to supporting the Jewish community locally, in Israel and around the world.  As Women Philanthropists we recognize the importance of raising funds in the pursuit of accomplishing our Federation’s mission and goals.  We are an inclusive collective of informed, inspired and motivated women committed to making a difference through our philanthropy.

To provide women within the Philadelphia region with unique opportunities to support and strengthen our Jewish community at home, in Israel and world-wide through community building, leadership development and a meaningful Campaign process.


Our Mission 

To raise funds and promote volunteer involvement to support the priorities of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia (JFGP).
To fund community building programs that empower women and encourage meaningful connections locally, in Israel and around the world.
To reach out to and welcome participation from women of all lifestyles and income levels.
To provide leadership development opportunities for Jewish women to gain valuable experience in community building, policy development, management and strategic planning.
To offer valuable, hands-on opportunities to see Federation dollars at work both locally and overseas.
As a JFGP affinity group, we serve as a point of entry for further Federation involvement.

Our Programs


 A full calendar of educational, social and fundraising events for donors at various giving levels.
Hands-on volunteer opportunities at Super Sunday, Mitvah Mania and other programs specific for Women’s Philanthropy.
Women’s missions to Israel and other nations across
the globe to educate inspire and empower women as philanthropists and leaders.
A leadership development program for women who are interested in furthering their knowledge of local and global Jewish community needs. Throughout this program, each participant has an opportunity to explore their areas of interest and the pathways to involvement.

Women's Philanthropy - Fundraising and Campaign

On Women's Giving
Women's Philanthropy was created to provide a unique pattern of leadership to women in the Jewish Federation campaign. Today, Women's Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia raises more than $5 million annually to help Federation meet its goals. By contributing as individuals, women have significantly increased both the dollar amount and total number of gifts to Jews all around the world. Women's Philanthropy raises over $5,000,000 from women giving in their own name.
