A Taste of Judaism: Are You Curious? and Taste of Judaism: Are You Curious? 2

Taste of Judaism. Are you curious?

FOR THOSE CURIOUS ABOUT JUDAISM – JEWISH OR NOT

Some remarks from winter of 2006 Taste participants:

I learned a lot! I’m energized more! Loved it all! (Jewish participant)

Curious. Excited. Interested in learning and becoming a part of a Jewish community. (Jewish participant)

More curious! (non-Jewish participant)

A Taste of Judaism:  Are You Curious? is a unique program designed to engage "beginners" - Jewish or not - in learning more about Judaism.  It has attracted more than 50,000 participants across North America during the past ten years, welcoming all who are curious about the Jewish tradition: unaffiliated Jews, interfaith couples, and interested non-Jews.

Three-session classes or one Sunday, given free of charge, are being offered October through November in 4 Center City, Philadelphia synagogues (Reform, Independent Reconstructionist Conservative, Conservative and Orthodox).  For those who would like to explore or re-explore the foundations of Jewish tradition or for those who may be searching for an entrée into Jewish life, the course covers the Jewish perspective on spirituality, values and community. Comfortable surroundings and an informal atmosphere encourage free and lively discussion of Judaism's approach to living in our rapidly changing society.  Using traditional and modern Jewish texts, experienced rabbis discuss the ways that Judaism addresses issues in our personal and professional lives.

The program was created by the Union for Reform Judaism and is organized by the Kehillah of Center City a project of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

Registration is required. Seating is limited. For further information for A Taste of Judaism, contact Catherine Fischer 215-832-0597 or tasteofjudaism@comcast.net.

Taste of Judaism: Are You Curious? 2

Taste 2 is a sequel to A Taste of Judaism:  Are You Curious? which has been offered in Center City for the last three years. Offering a “next course” to Taste 1 was created in response to the overwhelming feedback from our participants who simply "want more."  As with Taste 1, Taste 2 welcomes all who are curious about the Jewish tradition: unaffiliated Jews, interfaith couples, and interested non-Jews. People who are not Jewish and are interested in this class are encouraged to take Taste prior to taking Taste 2.

Three-session classes or one Sunday, given free of charge, are being offered February through March in 6 synagogue locations (Reform, Independent, Reconstructionist Conservative, Conservative and Orthodox) throughout Center City, Philadelphia.  For those who would like to explore or re-explore the foundations of Jewish tradition or for those who may be searching for an entrée into Jewish life, the course covers the Jewish perspective on life cycle events, holidays and wisdom. Comfortable surroundings and an informal atmosphere encourage free and lively discussion of Judaism's approach to living in our rapidly changing society.  Using traditional and modern Jewish texts, experienced rabbis discuss the ways that Judaism addresses issues in our personal and professional lives.

The program was organized by the Kehillah of Center City a project of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Click here for more info.

Registration is required. Seating is limited. For further information on class dates, times, locations and how to register for A Taste of Judaism, contact Catherine Fischer 215-832-0597 or tasteofjudaism@comcast.net.
