Kehillah of Center City

9/1/2006

Shalom and welcome to the Kehillah of Center City, your connection to Center City Jewish Life.

Center City Philadelphia is home to over 15,000 Jews as well as a sort of second home to the tens of thousands Jews who work downtown. amidst the hustle and bustle of vibrant urban life, with its theater, music, fine dining and clubs, you can also find an exciting jewish community with opportunities for learning, worship, social action and jewish arts and culture. but with everything else going on downtown you need to know where to look.

The mission of the Kehillah of Center City is threefold-

*to reach out to those that are unaffiliated,

*to raise the profile of the Center City Jewish Community

*to facilitate cooperative undertakings and build bridges among the diverse jewish synagogues and other institutions that share this wonderful downtown.

Our programming reflects our mission. the programs are cooperative ventures highlighting many institutions that, we hope, will invite you to get to know us.

Center City Jewish Life is alive, exciting and filled to overflowing with opportunities for jews of all ages and backgrounds, their families, and those exploring judaism. so explore our website, and then explore our community. we’re delighted you’re here.

The Kehillah of Center City is a collaborative effort among (13) synagogues, cultural and community service agencies in Center City Philadelphia. organized in 1998, the Kehillah is a project of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
